Greatest mountain race in WMRA pool
Šmarna gora race was declared the “greatest-mountain-race-of-all-time” in a vote organized by the International Mountain Running Association (WMRA), which would sound best in Slovene: “the best mountain run in the world”.
In the competition of 24 runs from all over the world, we are reliably the “smallest run” both in terms of the number of participants and the budget, and last but not least in terms of the size (height-dimension) of our Mountain, which (fortunately) does not allow mass events. And yet we won!

Basic information
WMRA Grand Prix
Šmarna gora race was the first athletic event in Slovenia, which in 2004 managed to obtain this prestigious permit. Since then, the Šmarna gora Run has been included in the WMRA Grand Prix and represents one of the highlights of the mountain running season on a global scale.
